about

wrote this on a piece of receipt tape at my old grocery store...time's rollin'...

lyrics

time's rollin' like a rock down a hill
and there's no chance in hell it'll stay standin' still
the inevitable fate terrifies me
my eyes make friends with the people i meet
from intimate hugs, to passin' folks on the street
connections so brief
they probably shouldn't mean, a thing
to me, but they do

time's rollin' like a couple of nickels
into street grates, leaving me in a serious pickle
empty pockets keepin' me here
i wanna travel to Asia, wanna travel to Europe
wanna travel the world, but time's a bitchy stain,
like getting syrup, outta my jeans
cause' pancakes, are sweet, but they can be mean

so why fight the plan?
we're just a couple of ants, in a sequoia tree
why fight the man?
from what i've heard, and what they believe
he's much taller than me

time's rollin' like my wheels on cement
and i'd rather not count all the dollars that i've spent,
clearin' my head
my car makes friends with the cars that it meets
and if they drive fast, then they're probably one we should keep
cause' they're like me
and on a road so wide, it's not an easy thing to find

time's rollin' like a ball from a kid
and the kid's running fast, and the ball doesn't give a shit
you better run faster kid
the kid stops, the ball rolls into the street
and a minivan is the freedom that the ball meets
now the ball is flat
and the kid's a brat
and life's a lot like that

so why fight the plan?
we're just a couple of ants, in a sequoia tree
why fight the man?
from what i've heard, and what they believe
he's much taller than me

from what i've heard, what they believe
he's much taller than 5'3
from what i've heard, he's much taller than me
